Following a fantastic 2016 season for Apico Husqvarna where they claimed second and third in the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship the team are pleased to announce their plans for the 2017 season. The new season will see a new era for the team as they move into the MX1 class with two new riders.

The 2017 season will see Matt Burrows return to the team after being a fill in during the 2015 season and joined by Jamie Law who recently finished fourth at the Weston Beach Race. Both riders will be completing on the ultra-competitive Husqvarna FC450 in both the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship and the Michelin MX Nationals.

The team will also be supporting youth rider Jack Lindsey in the British Youth Nationals and Michelin MX Nationals as he moves up to the Big Wheel 85cc class.

Speaking about the move to MX1 Dylan Brown – Apico Factory Racing said “after two successful season in the MX2 class it was felt that it was the right time to move into the MX1 and continue the progression of the team. We are looking forward to another great season with Jamie and Matt in 2017 as title sponsor and showcasing the range of fantastic products at Apico”

Husqvarna Brand Manager – David Edwards commented by saying “it is great to be continuing to work with the Apico Husqvarna team for 2017 and the new line up of Jamie and Matt. It will also be great to see the team moving into the MX1 class and represent the Husqvarna brand in a new class”

Jamie Law #25 – “After sitting out the start of the 2016 season, I was returning to racing towards to the end of the season with a renewed passion and focus to do well at the top of the sport in the UK. With the support and backing of Apico and Husqvarna I’m really excited to start working towards the new season with a great team”

Matt Burrows #11 – “During the 2015 season I was able to ride for the team as a fill in rider in the MX2 class, so it is great to be back riding for the team in the MX1 class. It’s also great to have such a strong package around us as a team so that myself and Jamie can focus on getting the results on track when the gates drops in March.”
